Amazon.com Product Description
Crafted with eye-catching metals and sporting a supremely slim form, the stone-grey MOTORAZR V3m cell phone backs up its revolutionary style with an advanced feature set that's bound to impress. The phone is fully loaded with an arsenal of digital tools, including a 1.3-megapixel digital camera, Bluetooth connectivity for using wireless hands hands-free headsets, microSD memory card expansion, a digital audio player, and video capture and playback. As a result, you'll enjoy the ultimate in mobile connectivity and style with a RAZR V3m in your hand or pocket.

The RAZR V3m's super-slim body holds a 1.3-megapixel digital camera and microSD expansion slot.

Sprint Service Options
Supporting the EV-DO high-speed data standard, the RAZR V3m is fully compatible with Sprint's Power Vision service (additional charges applicable). With Power Vision, you can download songs, video clips, and other multimedia entertainment from a host of different sources, including CNN, the Weather Channel, NFL Mobile, and more. Where coverage is available, EV-DO connectivity provides download speeds ranging from 400 to 700 Kbps. The Sprint Music Store, meanwhile, lets you buy, download, and them jam out wherever you are with new songs or old favorites. Offering a growing selection of more than 1.6 million songs, the store gives you two copies of each song--one for the phone and another for the PC--as well as the ability to burn songs to a CD using Windows Media Player.

The stone grey phone is made of fully anodized aluminum.
Users can also shoot and share their digital photos and short video clips instantly via Sprint PCS Picture Mail, then either store the pictures and videos on their memory cards or send them from their phones to e-mail addresses or other compatible phones. Sprint's Picture Mail website also lets you crop pictures, organize your own albums, share your pictures and videos, order prints, and more. Finally, Sprint Radio offers more than 30 channels of both music and talk radio, from hip-hop to Latin pop to NPR.

Design
The RAZR V3m's design takes the standard clamshell form factor to the next level with an impressive, fully anodized aluminum construction. A large 176 x 220 color display with 65,000 colors dominates the inside of the top cover. The outside cover of the handset, meanwhile, sports a supplementary 96 x 80 full-color display that can show caller ID pictures, time, call information, battery, signal strength, and more. The 1.3-megapixel camera lens is housed above this display, while up/down buttons are placed on the left side for volume control.

Most of the phone's features and onscreen menus are controlled by a five-way center button on the handset's backlit control pad, which is precision cut from a single sheet of nickel-plated copper alloy. The RAZR V3m also boasts 30 MB of embedded memory for storing pictures, videos, and downloaded Power Vision content, plus you can expand your storage space with the phone's microSD memory card slot. Note that the phone does not include a 2.5 mm headset jack, but does include a headset adapter in the box, along with a charging port and USB data cable port.

Calling Features
The RAZR V3m's internal phone book can hold up to 1,000 contacts, while the phone's picture ID system allows you to assign pictures to your most common callers. The phone also supports polyphonic ringtones and MP3 ringers, allowing you to use portions of your favorite songs to alert you to incoming calls (a number of ringtones come preloaded on the phone and more ringtones can be downloaded from Sprint's ringtone service). Other calling features include a vibrating alert for when you want to be discreet; a built-in speakerphone; voice-activated dialing that makes it possible to call your friends, family, and associates by simply saying their names; and compatibility with Bluetooth wireless headsets for complete hands-free operation.

Messaging, Internet, and Tools
The RAZR V3m is a messaging and wireless Internet powerhouse. The phone includes built-in support for sending and receiving pictures, text, graphics, sound, and video via messages. When used in combination with the phone's built-in still and video camera, Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) opens up a whole new world of messaging fun. There's also a built-in web browser for Sprint downloads and mobile web browsing, or you can turn to Sprint's SMS text message and instant messenger options to stay connected. And it's a breeze to read your e-mail and multimedia attachments thanks to the RAZR V3m POP3 e-mail support.

Imaging and Extras
The RAZR V3m's 1.3-megapixel camera bridges the gap between phones and quality digital cameras, with the ability to capture video in addition to offering night and self-timer functions. In addition, the phone offers embedded animated screensavers and full-screen wallpapers, letting you set up the RAZR V3m to suit your tastes. Finally, a number of handy software tools are bundled with the RAZR V3m, including a voice memo recorder, a calculator with currency converter, a calendar, and an alarm clock. The phone supports the SyncML PC synchronization standard, which can be used with Motorola's Mobile Phone Tools PC application to manage and synchronize contacts, calendar, and other data with your PC.

Vital Statistics
The Motorola RAZR V3m measures 2.1 by 3.9 by 0.57 inches (W x H x D), weighs 3.5 ounces, and includes a lithium-ion batty that's rated for up to 3.33 hours of digital talk time and up to 325 hours of digital standby time. The phone, which runs on the CDMA 800 and 1,900 MHz frequencies, comes with a one-year limited warranty.

4 out of 5 stars I like it   June 30, 2008

I've had the Razr for a little over 2 months now. My dad, mom, and I all got the Razr, while my sister paid extra to get the Katana II (couldn't say why...). For what I use it for, it's mostly fine.

Pros: Nice & sleek. I haven't found a case that works for me so far, so I just keep my phone in my pocket. Older, bulkier phones got annoying after a while, so this was a nice change.
You can designate the arrow keys (Up, down, left, right) to take you to any menu you want (Messaging, pics & vids, My Content, and Settings are mine, respectively). Comes in really handy for me.
Not with the phone, but if you know where to look, you can find a bunch of free* ringtone codes (unfortunately, unless you have web access included in your plan, it'll cost $0.03 per KB for a download, which will cost about the same as the regular price of the song, so, without the coad, it'll cost twice as much as it says on the Sprint Store's website.)
Micro SD card slot. You can either directly save any pictures or videos you take to the micro SD card or you can save them to the phone and copy to the card. Or, you can put pictures onto your card on your computer and then either just keep them there or save them to the camera.
My phone and my dad's came with a 128 MB card, while my mom's came with a 64 MB card. I think it is expandable to 4 GB, but I find no need for more than the 128 MB included. I've found 1 GB cards ranging from $15 to $25 and 2 GB from $20 to $30. Depends if you're going to take a lot of pictures with the 1.3 MP Camera

Cons: The speaker phone requires you to have the microphone right in front of your mouth or else you won't be heard on the other end.
Alarm clock function doesn't work right. I set it up to go off at 6:00 a.m., over a week, it went off at 6:15, 6:45, 7:30, 7:45, and 7:30.
Text messaging is annoying at first. If you want to type "Pecan," you have to hit 73226, and then scroll through a menu past "Peac6", "Peacn", "Peacm", and "Recan" to select "Pecan." On my sister's Katana, if you want a "P", you hit 7 once. If you want a "Y", you hit 9 three times. Sure, you'll hit more buttons, but if you're typing something obscure, like someone's name, you won't find it on the list, so you'll have to delete the word and start over, selecting individual letters individually.
Can't put your own music on it. Even though you can technically put an .mp3 file onto the micro SD card, you cannot play it on the phone. You will have to purchase the music from the Sprint online store.
