Product Description Topsy-Turvy Planter makes it easy to grow tomatoes and vegetables because it eliminates the need for a backyard garden plot, stakes or cages, weeding, soil prep, hole digging, cut worms and in-ground insects! Saves your back and knees too! Hang it from a hook on a deck or balcony and you’ll work standing up. Water and fertilize through the built-in top funnel; trim and harvest at chest height! Also for cukes, peppers, flowers. Just add your soil and plants. FLOWERS thrive in TOPSY TURVY, too! And talk about an interesting way to grow them! Flowers grown in TOPSY will "curl" upward seeking the sun, creating gorgeous "upside down umbrella-like sprays" of flowers. Flowers grown this way look "interestingly different" (almost like a new variety of plant).

Goodbye Slugs, Hello Tomatoes August 28, 2006 Karoly (Western WA-USA) 124 out of 124 found this review helpful
I have used the Topsy Turvy Tomatoe Planter for 3 seasons now, and will never, ever plant my tomatoes in the ground again. This product is sturdy, simple to use, and produces beautiful fruit. Because the plants grow toward the sun and never touch the ground, the slugs and other critters cannot ruin or run off with your produce. As I have already stated, I have used the same bags for 3 seasons now, and have not had any problems at all. I highly recommend this product. ****Later Posting**** I used these for 4 seasons, and that was about the end the first pair...they do wear out eventually, and they were well worth the price I paid for them. So, I guess I need to replace them! Four summers' worth was pretty good!
A wonderful way to use vertical space March 8, 2006 Maureen Mielcarek (Lancaster, California) 87 out of 91 found this review helpful
I bought two topsy turvy planters. They arrived in just a couple of days. The are now planted with tomatoes and bell peppers. They are wonderful and easy to use. I just ordered three more to try with cucumbers, zukes, and green beans. I recommend them to any one who wants and easy way to grow fresh vegetables.
Tomato planter May 22, 2006 Kristie Bridgham (Renton, WA) 23 out of 23 found this review helpful
I purchased two Topsy Turvy Tomato Planters and planted two tomato plants in each. After a month they are doing very well and getting flowers. Planting upside down is not easy. I thought this would work great since I have a 2 year old who will dig in a regular pot on the ground. It's kind of tricky to get the plants in the planter. And you will make a big mess. But they take up less space on my patio and are a great topic of interest for visitors. I'm very happy with them so far.
Loved This Product September 5, 2007 H. Noble (USA) 22 out of 23 found this review helpful
BUY IT!! I purchased 3 of these for growing Tomato's, Green Peppers and Cucumbers and they all worked like a dream. Plants were healthy, full and produced alot of edible vegetables. I had assumed at the time i was researching this item that they dry out fast in the summer sun and that i would have to water constantly but that was not the case. I only watered once every other day. The chamber holds alot of moisture and because its plastic prevents alot of the evaporation. Only recommendation is find a sturdy spot for the hanger then leave it there until the season is over. My neighbor also bought a couple and moved them once they got to big breaking the stem of one tomato plant with was laddened with fruits. So allow at least 3-4ft of clearance under the planter for extensive growth then enjoy the resulting harvest!
great item, lost the surprise May 14, 2007 S. Delgado (los angeles) 17 out of 18 found this review helpful
This item is really great.very innovative, whoever came up with the idea is a genius.Tomatoes are a favorite of mine,so the upside down gimmick is cool. The product can be kind of heavy once filled,so you may need some help putting it up if you cant lift more than 40-50 lbs.The instructions are very thorough, even including some great growing tips. You can also plant many other vegetables in it!Much more cost effective and conversation starting than those non-hanging upside-down tomato planters.i recommend this for anyone who has problems with ground-dwelling insects, and even vegetable eating pests such as squirrels and mice,or just as a cool conversation starter. The loss of surprise was that this item was a mothers day gift but the item wasnt packed in a ups brown box.Amazon simply placed the address sticker on the item itself.Oh well.
